Notre Dame received its seventh verbal commitment to the 2012 recruiting class when offensive tackle Mark Harrell of Charlotte (N.C.) Catholic High School told the Irish coaches of his intentions Thursday night.
The 6-foot-5, 270-pound Harrell picked the Irish over the likes of Auburn, Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
"I decided to pull the trigger," Harrell said via cell phone. "I couldn't wait any longer."
Harrell has made two unofficial visits to Notre Dame, the first in February for a Junior Day, the other in March for spring practice.
Earlier Thursday, cornerback Terry Richardson of Detroit picked Michigan over ND, LSU, USC and Alabama.
