HARTFORD, Conn. -- One week after suffering a gut-wrenching one-point loss at DePaul in the regular-season finale, the Notre Dame women’s basketball team rallied to pay the Blue Demons back with a heartbreaker of their own.

No. 3 seed Notre Dame, trailing 33-27 at halftime, battled to pull off a 71-67 victory in the Big East Conference Tournament semifinals Monday night against No. 2 seed DePaul.

The victory means Notre Dame (26-6) plays two-time defending national champion and No. 1 seed UConn (31-1) at 7 p.m. Tuesday night at the XL Center for the Big East Tournament championship. DePaul awaits NCAA Tournament play at 27-6.

Skylar Diggins led Notre Dame with 19 points. Devereaux Peters scored 15.

Keisha Hampton led DePaul with a career-high 31 points.
