MISHAWAKA –Notre Dame has landed one of the most sought-after basketball recruits in the country.
Marian senior Demetrius Jackson, the most highly-rated player to come from Michiana in a long time, announced that he had chosen the Irish over Illinois.
It's a huge get for the Irish. Jackson is ranked as one of the top 30 high school players in the entire country and one of the top 5 point guards.
Many of the top college programs wanted him – Illinois, Butler, Michigan State, Xavier, Florida State, Louisville, Kansas, even Kentucky and Indiana were interested.
Jackson is the most highly-rated prospect to pick Notre Dame in 10 years.
