The college football recruiting week began with word that Michigan
gained eight verbal commitments over the weekend.
That came on the heels of Ohio State landing a prized cornerback, its
fourth verbal commitment in the 2013 recruiting cycle. Three of those
Buckeye pledges are ranked as four-star prospects, the other a
five-star.
Notre Dame, meanwhile, remains at one verbal commitment, that of
four-star offensive tackle Steve Elmer, who committed in September.
If you're getting ready to ball up your fist and punch the panic

recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong began, "it is a marathon and not a
sprint."
Case in point: Notre Dame on Tuesday hit the finish line of the 2012
recruiting gruel-athon when it received a letter-of-intent from slot
wide receiver Davonte' Neal. Not only did Neal's recruitment stretch
three weeks past the Feb. 1 national signing day, but it also extended
four hours past Neal's originally scheduled press conference.
