-- Just days after USC transfer Amir Carlisle found out he wouldn't
have to sit out next fall as a condition of his transfer, the
sophomore running back had his first spring at ND wiped out.

Kelly announced Tuesday that the 5-10, 185-pounder suffered a broken
ankle during voluntary drills last week.

"Nothing structurally major to the point where we're concerned about
him," Kelly qualified. "He'll be ready to go for June when we come
back."

-- The injured players who missed all or part of last season, who have
now been cleared for full contact this spring, are defensive end
Kapron Lewis-Moore (knee), safety Eilar Hardy (knee), linebacker
Anthony Rabasa (shoulder) and offensive tackle Tate Nichols
(shoulder).

Those who will participate but will be limited are center Braxston
Cave (foot), defensive end Chase Hounshell (shoulder), nose guard Tony
Springmann (back) and running back Cam Roberson (knee), the latter of
whom missed almost a full year.
