FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- When Notre Dame arrives in Florida for the BCS title game, it will find that a Florida recruit plans to arrive at Notre Dame next fall.
Four-star running back Tarean Folston made a verbal commitment to play for the Irish on Wednesday, making the pledge on ESPN during preparation for the Under Armour All-American Game to be played Friday.
Folston is a 5-foot-10-inch, 195-pound back from Cocoa, Fla., rated the No. 183 prospect nationally and the No. 13 running back overall by Rivals.com. He reportedly also had offers from Florida, Florida State, Illinois, Oregon, South Carolina and Stanford, among others.
The addition of Folston bumps the Irish's recruiting haul for the Class of 2013 to 22 commitments overall. Folston joins five-star prospect and fellow Florida native Greg Bryant as running back pledges for the current cycle.
