Notre Dame women's basketball: Irish offensive effort, numbers 'crazy'

The Pitt women's basketball team probably thought the Big East's early
departure buy-out sounded pretty good shortly after tip-off Tuesday at
Notre Dame lit up Pitt and the scoreboard from the start as the Irish
went on to a 120-44 victory against the Panthers.
Next up for the Irish (18-1 overall, 6-0 Big East) is a game Saturday
at 1 p.m. against Villanova.
"It's crazy," Irish senior guard Brittany Mallory said of storming
past Pittsburgh. "At Mercer, we scored 128 points, but we've never
scored this many at home.
"Some people are saying, 'That's so mean, why did you do that?' It's
not like we really tried to get out and run on them. We just could
execute and do what we wanted to on them. We were making our baskets,
and the post players had a great game. It wasn't like we were
continually pushing the ball. We just ran out stuff, and we had five
different looks every possession."
