Former Oregon-Davis High School star Gabi Minix will be in the
spotlight at Notre Dame's Purcell Pavilion for several reasons
Wednesday night.

Minix, a 5-foot-9 sophomore guard at Marquette, will be in the house
when the Golden Eagles square off with No. 3 Notre Dame in both teams’
Big East Conference opener.

Minix's Marquette club brings a 5-4 record into the 7 p.m. EST
tip-off. Notre Dame boasts a 7-1 mark.

Crafting a brilliant high school career that included a 2007 Class 1-A
state crown at Oregon-Davis, Minix is now running the Golden Eagles'
attack. She averages 3.4 points and leads the team with 42 assists.
She is also second with 14 steals.

Notre Dame coach Muffet McGraw understands that Minix will be cheered
on by a large contingent of family and friends.

“Gabi is doing very well for them,” McGraw said. “She played last year
and played behind Angel Robinson, who is a really good point guard.
She got to learn a lot from Angel. This year, she’s stepping into her
own.

“I’m sure she’s going to have a big crowd come up from Oregon-Davis.
