Ashley Lutz brings one thing to the court that no one else on Penn's roster can provide. Experience.
"She brings that ultimate experience to the floor,” says Penn coach Kristi Kaniewski. “She really wants to share her passion with all of her teammates, and let them know, ‘We’re not going to quit. We’re going to keep fighting to the end.”
The Kingsmen count on Lutz’s leadership, a skill she honed last year while sitting with a torn ACL.
“I take pride in being a leader,” Lutz says. “Last year I had to learn how to coach from the bench. You need a leader on the team.”
While she averages 7 and a half points per game, Lutz is also Penn's top defender.
"Defense is all about heart. You might not get all the glory but people who know basketball are going to tell you what a great job you did. It’s all about heart.”
And that attitude, has pushed the Kingsmen all the way to the semi-state!
