Outstanding Student-Athlete: Nic Moore
"He's the best player that I've coached since I've been a head coach," Tigers coach Doug Ogle said.
That's nine years now, and Moore has lived up to that statement, leading the Tigers to the state title game in 2010, finishing this past season sixth in the state in scoring, and going out as one of the best players in Indiana.
"I think a lot of these fans will remember me in 20, 30 years and remember watching me play, and then hopefully I can come back and see them," Moore said. "It means a lot to me. They're really supportive of me. Going out in the community and seeing little kids and parents, talking to me and stuff, so it means a lot to me."
This fall, Moore will play Division I hoops at Illinois State. The legacy he leaves behind at Warsaw won't soon be surpassed.
"Nic's legacy is just the number of times that he was able to, in a variety of ways, will us to victories," Ogle said, "in a lot of pressure-packed situations where his greatness was the difference."
