BENTON HARBOR — The PGA of America has opened a Championship office that will serve as the home for the staff of the 73rd and 75th Senior PGA Championships to be contested at The Golf Club at Harbor Shores next year and in 2014. The Championship office is at 101 W. Main St.
In 2010, The PGA of America and Whirlpool Corp. entered into an agreement that made KitchenAid the presenting sponsor for the oldest and most prestigious event in senior golf – the Senior PGA Championship for 2011-2014. The sponsorship kicks off this year, May 26 to 29, at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky.
Championship Director Jeffrey Hintz has moved his family from Florida to the area to lead efforts for The PGA of America for the 2012 and 2014 Championships as well as the relationship with KitchenAid. Currently, there are three staff members serving the office in preparation for the 2012 Championship.
More information about the 2012 Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid can be found at www.spga2012.com and individuals are encouraged to sign up now to receive alerts when volunteer, ticket and hospitality opportunities become available.
