Thank you, Skylar

A legend walked off the court Monday after delivering one final legendary performance. Skylar Diggins gave her hometown fans a curtain call in the form of triple overtime. The final act ended, just like nearly every one prior to it – With a win.

During Skylar's reign, Notre Dame was 59-5 at home. From the very beginning, it was clear she feels right at home in her hometown.

Before the season began, Diggins expressed to me the pride she has in being a hometown kid.

"I'm proud I'm from South Bend."

But it's this community that is and should be proud of her.  For all the great memories she's provided over the last 8 years.

For bringing a state basketball championship back to South Bend.

For raising the bar at Notre Dame.... and then raising it again.

For being a warrior on the court and a class-act off of it.

For being a role model our daughters can look up to.

Skylar Diggins has accomplished more in the last 8 years than most local athletes dream of in a lifetime.

We've all been privileged to come along for the ride.

Thanks Skylar! It's been fun.
