Investigators in Monticello, Ind. are trying to figure out what caused a woman to crash her SUV into 11 cars in a Wal-Mart parking lot on Christmas Eve.
Surveillance video caught the whole thing as the driver, 64-year-old Ruth Ames appeared to see an open parking spot. The video showed the woman putting the SUV in reverse before pulling into the space.
Then, for some reason, Ames puts her Ford Explorer in reverse again, backing up at a high rate of speed.
Ames slammed into the back of cars in the opposite aisle and then the Ford went back into drive and took off. It pushed some cars out of the way, before it slammed into others.
The Explorer ends up wedged between two rows of cars and you could see the smoke from the spinning tires.
In all, Ames' actions damaged a total of 12 vehicles, including her own.
Monticello police estimate the damage from the accident to be between $50,000 and $100,000.

Where exactly is she seeing an open parking spot? And where does she go in reverse? I've watched this video 7 times now and the way you describe it makes absolutely no sense with the video.
