On one hand, it makes sense. However, on the other hand, it's just plain weird.
"No, I can't,” said Colts fan Laci Campbell. “I don't think anybody else can either. It's gonna be a little surreal I would say."
Other fans agree, but they also think the decision makes sense.
"Given their run last year, I think it'll be a good fit for him and I'd like to see him go to another Super Bowl," said Colts fan John Black.
"They have a good football team, right, good reputation," said Colts fan Jane Robison. "Rather have him stay here but if he's gonna go someplace, nice people."
"It seems like he's ready to play," said Colts fan Michael Paybody. "I wish he could still be in Indianapolis. I'm gonna be a Broncos fan or whoever he's playing with, so yeah I wish he was still here."
Within minutes of the breaking news, the Peyton Manning story was already the talk of The Dan Dakich Show on 1070 The Fan.
"Look, John Elway saw the man work out," Dakich said on his show. "He's watched his work. He knows what he's getting for the most part."
Fellow 1070 host, JMV, believes the decision is a good one for both sides.
For Manning, Denver could be the best place for him to start winning right away. For John Elway and the Broncos, they now have a four-time NFL MVP to replace Tim Tebow.
"They kinda fashioned the offense around him," JMV said. "Now they're gonna be able to say okay Manning, here's your offense and who knows, Jeff Saturday may end up there. Brandon Stokely may come out of retirement, we'll see."
