The 54th annual national finals rodeo will be Thursday through Dec. 15 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Six South Dakotans will be competing for the more than $6 million in prize money and world championships in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding. They are: Ardie Maier, Timber Lake, bull riding; Chad Ferley, Oelrichs, saddle bronc riding; Cole Elshere, Faith, saddle bronc riding; Todd Suhn, Hermosa, steer wrestling; Lisa Lockhart, Oelrichs, barrel racing; and Nikki Steffes, Vale, barrel racing.
