College scholarships available for women
Bluegrass Alliance for Women is taking applications for its Legacy of Leadership Scholarship and its Lifelong Learning Scholarship funded by AARP.
Female residents living in one of the Bluegrass Area Development District counties are eligible to apply.
These counties are Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Estill, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Harrison, Jessamine, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, Nicholas, Powell, Scott and Woodford.
Both scholarships are open to women who will be attending a two-year or four-year college as a full-time student or as a part-time student carrying at least nine credit hours.
Two Legacy of Leadership scholarships, each for $500, will be awarded, one for a traditional student and one for a non-traditional student.
The Lifelong Learning Scholarship funded by AARP, also $500, is for women who will be 50 or over in 2013.
