Allie Marie Burden Plummer, 98, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012.
She was born May 22, 1914, in Fordsville, Ky., to the late Mary Dora Wiloughby and Jeff E. Burden, and was the wife of the late James Plummer.
Mrs. Plummer was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church; she went to work in Louisville at the Reynolds War Plant during World War II, worked at the Danville Laundry, sold Avon for many years, was a member of the National Fraternal Society of the Deaf, and enjoyed needle point, hummingbirds and fishing.
Survivors include a son, E. G. Plummer of Danville; two grandchildren, Mandy and Roger Plummer, both of Danville; a cousin, Frances Edwards of Parksville; a niece, Lucy Nally of Chicago; a nephew, Jimmy Burden of Wyoming; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Plummer was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, James and Ruby Burden; and a niece, Clara Elder.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Brent Rowe and Roger Coyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m-8 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church. COF will conduct a ritual at 7:30 p.m. today at the church.
Pallbearers will be David Davis, Harlan Finke, Lowell King, Roger Coyer, Kenny Grubbs, Chuck Stallard and Doug Wesley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be past and present staff members of Charleston Health Care and the members of Mrs. Plummer’s Joy Seekers Sunday School Class.
