1993-2013
SOMERSET — Kody A. Thacker, 19, of the Slate Branch community of Somerset, Ky., departed this life on Saturday, Feb.23, 2013, in Somerset.
Born Aug. 19, 1993, in Lexington, Ky., he was a son of David Thacker and Loretta Carey Thacker. He was a full-time student at Somerset Community College.
Mr. Thacker was a 2012 graduate of Southwestern High School. He was a member of DECA and a special assistant to the late Mrs. Louise Simpson. He was a Christian.
Survivors include his mother, Loretta Carey Thacker; his father, David Thacker; a brother, Keith Lee Thacker (fiancee Lacey Turpen); a grandmother, Eileen M. Thacker; six aunts, Sharlene (Chester) Brown, Carolyn (Earl) Claunch, Teresa (Randy) Singleton, Peggy (Carson) Acey, Becky (Victor) Owens and Carlotta (Bruce) Stringer; three uncles, Kenneth (Diana) Carey, Randy (Tammy) Thacker and Travis (Malissa) Thacker; numerous cousins; and special loves ones, James and Frances Ferrell and family, and Jerry Burnett and family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Kyle J. Thacker; his grandparents, Roy E. and Wilma Lee Carey, and Joseph “Skeets” Thacker; and great-grandparents Oscar and Carrie Wilcher, and Lela and John Thacker.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Burnett officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Ferrell, Blake Adams, Randy Thacker, Roger Daniel, Christopher Carey and Cody David.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today, Feb. 26, at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 W. Hwy. 80, Somerset, Ky.
