Randall E. “Randy” Spears, 58, went home peacefully Friday morning, Nov. 23, 2012, with his family by his side.
He was born June 15, 1954 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Randy was the loving son of Milton “Bud” Spears and Rose M. Spears, loving husband of Teresa A. Spears, and was a retired Retail Manager and Merchandise Buyer working 35 years with Amway, Maloney’s, Hicks, and Walmart Stores.
His dear family includes three daughters, Casey Morgan Spears, of Lexington, Taylor Mackenzie Spears of Mount Sterling and Jenny Lucas of Somerset; one son, Shay Hartgrove of Mount Sterling; cherished grandchildren Preslie Grace Spears, Jeffery Paul Lucas, Paul Johnson Jr. and Drea Johnson. Randy is also survived by his best friend and son-in-law to be, Paul Johnson Sr.; loving sister Carol Peats of Indianapolis; special niece Monica Cantrell and her husband Brad; nephews Nick and Ben; and nieces Myranda and Kaiden. Additional loving family members are Ruth, Mark, Dee, Chuck, Robert, Chris, Christina, Randy C., Donna, Brian, Deidra, Emily, Summer, Paul, Matthew and Nathan, plus a large host of other family, Walmart family, and friends.
Randy was of the Christian faith, was an avid sports fan, enjoyed cooking and grilling, loved the Indianapolis 500, Friday night movies at home with his family, planning all the special family events, and cherished his family and grandchildren who loving called him “Pops”. Randy also had a generous heart and regularly gave anonymously to others who were in need.
A celebration of Randy’s life will be 1 p.m. today at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Johnson, Teresa Spears, and Shay Hartgrove officiating. Friends and family may gather from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
