    Local gospel artist Kevin Monroe brings his 16-piece band Devotion to Toad's Placethis weekend to record a new album, and you're invited. Monroe, who was born and raised in New Haven, began his musical career with Willie Small and his gospel group W.S. Even though Monroe kept worship as his first goal, he still found time to record <em>Life is a Gift</em>, released in 2002. On Sun., April 22 at 6 p.m., Kevin Monroe &amp; Devotion get down to business recording album number two, with a planned title of <em>The Rebirth of Kevin Monroe and Devotion</em>.
