Dreamed of being a doctor but never made it to medical school?
Well, now you have a chance to at least study like one.
The University of Medicine School of Medicine will tonight launch the 12th year of its Mini Med School, a series for free courses that run through Oct. 10.
The schedule of classes are as follows:
Sept. 12: Sleep Disorders — Dr. Steven Scharf; Lyme Disease — Dr. Ray Flores
Sept. 19: Lupus — Dr. Violeta Rus; Lead Poisoning — Dr. Laura Finkelstein
Sept. 26: Complementary Medicine — Dr. Delia Chiaramonte; Taking Medications Propery/Drug Interaction — Dr. Cherokee Layson-Wolf
Oct. 3: Childhood Obesity — Dr. Jay Perman; Child Abuse Prevention — Dr. Howard Dubowitz
Oct. 10: Eating Disorders — Dr. Samra Blanchard; Graduation
Anyone can sign up for a class on-site. You must attend at least four classes to get a diploma on the last day of class. The classes run 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Nearly, 300 people have signed up for the classes in advance.
