WICHITA, Kan.—
After helping to lead the Spartans to a 9-3 record on the football field, Conner Barragree looks to have continued success on the track this spring. The middle distance runner has set lofty goals for himself and hopes that the pain threshold he has developed in football will help him in running. Q: What is the main difference between track and football?
A: Football involves a lot of contact pain, while track is more anaerobic pain
Q: What similarities are there between track and football?
A: Both take a lot of pain, a lot of strength and a lot of heart
Q: What is your favorite event in track?
A: The 800 because you need the ability to run hard the first lap and sprint the second lap; I feel it is the race that takes the most heart.
Q: Do you plan on continuing athletics in college?
A: I haven’t completely decided yet because I want to continue running, but I also want to have a normal college experience.
Q: Who are your biggest inspirations?
A: Pat Tillman, because he would always play with a lot of heart and never let outside things distract him on the field. He also sacrificed his life for the greater good of our country which is a true hero in my opinion.
Q: What are your goals for this season?
A: To qualify for state in the 800 and the 4X800.

A: The University of Connecticut
