Marvin "Jim" and Shirley Leasock of Rockwood recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Leasock and the former Shirley Pritts were married Jan. 22, 1962, in Cumberland, Md. by the Rev. Wakeman.
They have resided at their present address for 33 years.
Shirley is the daughter of the late Isabelle and Edmund Pritts. She retired in 2006 from Friendly Home Parties.
Marvin is the son of the late Vera and Stephen Leasock. He retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission in 2000 after 30 years of service.
Both attend New Life Assembly of God.
The Leasocks are the parents of two daughters. Peggy is married to Scott Cooper and Christine, who is married to Douglas Burkholder of Meyersdale. They have a son Jamie who is deceased. There are five grandchildren. They have one great-grandchild, born in January.
To celebrate their anniversary, they had a party at the Meyersdale VFW.
Shirley's hobbies include latch-hooking rugs, reading, being outdoors, being with the grandkids, helping to spoil the new great-grandbaby, being with friends and family and spoiling their Poodle dog, Brandi.
Marvin's hobbies include exterior painting, being outdoors, being with the grandkids, picnics, being with friends and family and taking his dog Brandi for rides in the car, holding and being with the new great-grandbaby and hunting with the Burkholders.
