VIP PROGRAM

U12 and VIP soccer players compete in a game from May. North Star Region 430 will offer a Very Important Player program for the second year to allow disabled children/adults the chance to play soccer. (Daily American file photo / December 29, 2012)

Reed said the U12 division was especially a favorite with the program. She added that the U12 teams all asked to play the VIP team more than once.

“I learned so much from just one year of this program,” she said. “I learned that my kids responded better to playing a mainstream team and I learned the mainstream kids were really able to understand the needs of the VIP players.”

Registration will be held on Jan. 23 at Central Elementary in Boswell from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Jan. 26 from 9 a.m. until noon at Laurel Trinity Church along Route 985 just outside of Jennerstown.

Reed said there will be a specific table for VIP registry so parents can fill out all of the necessary paperwork and ask any questions they may have.

Registration dates and times are listed on Facebook under North Star AYSO and at www.northstarayso.com.
