Truck stolen, recovered
Somerset Borough police are investigating an apparent pickup truck theft.
Police said the red truck was reported stolen from the parking lot of the Carpet Outlet, 388 W. Patriot St., at 8:49 a.m. Jan. 2. At 2:09 p.m. the vehicle was reported in the parking lot of a church along West Union Street. The vehicle was subsequently recovered.
Police said Jeffery Coleman of Somerset was the victim. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 814-445-4596.
Police probe hit-and-run
A Somerset woman's vehicle was struck in a hit-and-run accident.
Catherine Sowers told police that someone struck the vehicle between 10 p.m. on New Year's Eve and 6:30 a.m. the following morning. The collision damaged the rear passenger side of the vehicle, which was parked legally along West Garrett Street.
Police observed tire treads in the snow leading to and from the vehicle.
