Region I volleyball champion Jamestown High put two players on the Virginia High School Coaches Association Group AA All-State first team and another on the second team, as the Bay Rivers placed five players on the all-state squad. Junior setter Monique St. Cyr and junior hitter Kelly Esch were first team selections for the Eagles, who reached the state semifinals.
Senior Brianna Sutton represented the Eagles on the second team. Curiously, New Kent's Karley Allen, the Bay Rivers and Region I Player of the Year, was picked to the second team, where she was joined by Grafton's Ashley Lind.
St. Cyr ranked fourth in state history for a season in aces (135) and service points (348) in becoming the the state career leader with 913 service points. Esch had 367 kills, 317 digs and 35 blocks for the Eagles, who got 225 kills, 283 digs and 87 aces from Sutton, who missed significant time with a shoulder injury.
Allen finished her career as the VSHSL all-time leader in spikes with 2,925. She tallied 462 of New Kent's 1,109 kills this season and 588 of the team's 1,592 points on kills, blocks and aces. Lind was an often-dominant hitter for Grafton, which reached the regional semifinals, notching 364 kills and 72 aces.
