  1. Walmart is no different than other big chains

In response to previous letters concerning Walmart perhaps opening a store at the Great Indoors property, it seems like all the people that oppose a Walmart store in Burbank are obviously not, or have ever been, Walmart shoppers. All of their negative...

  3. Kohl's shoplifters on the run in Lower Paxton

Two shoplifters were on the run yesterday; first from loss prevention officers at Kohl's and then from police officers in pursuit in Lower Paxton Township. The suspects, a man and a woman, were observed swiping a number of items, including shoes and tights. They ran to a black Chrysler Sebring with West Virginia plates when the store's loss prevention officers confronted them outside the store. The vehicle was spotted several times by responding police officers, and the suspects eluded capture when they were boxed in by a patrol car behind a dump truck. The vehicle was able to squeeze by one of the officers, narrowly missing the patrol car. The pair abandoned the Chrylser after they crashed into a tree on the corner of Union Deposit and Cider Press Road.

  15. Lollapalooza 2011 Recap

In the months between the release of Lollapalooza's 2011 lineup, and the festival's 20th anniversary this past weekend, general consensus was that the festival had gone mainstream. The festival's playful title may have felt almost like a smirking misnomer when Living Colour and the Rollins Band were filling out the days. But in recent years it has settled into its name the same way it has settled comfortably in between the skyline and lakefront. So if it's not the cutting edge indie haven on wheels that it once was, chalk it up to the passing of time. Nothing can stay exactly the same and sustain itself for two decades.
