  7. Blu-ray Review: A bit of a 'Titanic' waste

There are literally dozens of movies about the Titanic; this 1953 Hollywood version is one of the three best-known (the other two being Roy Ward Baker's “A Night to Remember” and James Cameron's modest little 1997 chamber drama). Like Cameron, director Jean Negulesco (Fox's go-to guy for melodrama at the time), writer/producer Charles Brackett (after the severing of his amazing 12-year collaboration with Billy Wilder), and co-writers Walter Reisch and Richard Breen focused primarily on the romantic lives of fictional characters. Barbara Stanwyck and Clifton Webb are the central pair, with Robert Wagner and Audrey Dalton representing young love.

  17. Bowie to Release Anniversary Reissue of Aladdin Sane

It’s hard to believe that four decades have gone by since David Bowie originally released his seminal album Aladdin Sane. On April 13, Bowie will release a freshly remastered 40th anniversary edition of the album, though it won’t contain any additional exclusive material. Bowie’s next studio album The Next Day will arrive March 12. And speaking of Bowie: On Tuesday in Los Angeles, Beck performed his “Sound and Vision” backed by a 157-piece orchestra during an invitation-only event on a soundstage at 20th Century Fox Studios.
