5. Brad Paisley Sums Up His Sound In New Album Title

Brad Paisley has announced that his next album will be titled Wheelhouse, since he is stepping out of his “Southern Comfort Zone” when it comes to music. The singer revealed details behind his upcoming project on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Brad admitted that he still has “about a month left of recording.” He is solo producing the album in his home studio, where he tends to lose track of time! “The next thing you know, we are writing in it and recording in it. I am there until 2AM and get back up with the kids in the morning, then go straight back down to work. I was as nervous as I had ever been when we started. I didn’t know what it would sound like, I didn’t know what to do and I cannot believe what I came up with.” During his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Brad shared a special song titled, “The Ballad of Honey Boo Boo” – which was dedicated to the TLC reality show. Brad’s current single, “Southern Comfort Zone,” is the first song from Wheelhouse, which is due on April 9th.

  7. A hidden side of Honey Boo Boo

It was hardly surprising for Time magazine to choose President Barack Obama to be its "Person of the Year." But for a new face that represents the spirit of these times, I believe a serious argument can be made for Alana Thompson, better known to many as TLC's pint-sized reality TV star, Honey Boo Boo.

  11. Wal-Mart promises to add $50 billion in American-made merchandise

Wal-Mart has promised to add $50 billion in American-made merchandise to its offerings over the next 10 years. The promise comes amid criticism of the company's overseas sources using cheap labor, as well as a fatal fire in a Bangladesh factory that made clothing for retailers including Wal-Mart. (And, incidentally, the retailer is also facing protest, such as the one pictured above, over its sales of assault weapons and ammunition.) And there's more: Wal-Mart says it will hire any honorably discharged U.S. military veteran who wants a job within 12 months of his or her discharge date. The company expects to hire 100,000 vets over the next five years. [Yahoo]

    Channel Guide Magazine
