3. Movie secrets are there, in the script!

You know what "Star Wars" is about? I mean, really about? Vietnam. It's a critical allegory of the war: The Rebels are the scrappy Viet Cong, hastily assembled, devoted and relentless; the Empire is the American military, tripped up by an enemy using guerrilla tactics and inferior weaponry. Oh, there's more here, but...

5. 'Katy Perry: Part of Me': If you see only one 3-D concert film this summer ... ★★½

Paramount Pictures does not lie: The chipper, no-warts-and-all tour chronicle "Katy Perry: Part of Me" is indeed the 3-D movie music event of the summer. The only one, I believe. Unless Christopher Nolan's"The Dark Knight Rises" turns out to be in 3-D, featuring duets sung by men in peculiar facial accessories.

They're commanding, confident.
They're commanding, confident. Well-coiffed. Their jaw lines are sturdy, anvil-shaped; their chins, cleft. They could stand on wedding cakes. They could date Barbie. They look presidential. Alongside their calm, straightforward charms, the world appears...

“The Dark Knight Rises” has already been a blessing for Pittsburgh and Newark, N.J., two non-traditional film locations that replaced Chicago as Gotham City in the third Christopher Nolan-directed Batman film.

Get ready, Chicago. Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias are bringing their co-headlining tour to the Windy City, and you know it’s going to be muy caliente! 15. 'Dark Knight Rises': A 'Knight' to fray the nerves -- 2 1/2 stars

Eight years after the camp frippery of “Batman & Robin” (1997), in which Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Mr. Freeze and Uma Thurman’s Poison Ivy played dress-up while George Clooney let his nipply bat-suit do most of the acting, director and co-writer Christopher Nolan brought to the screen the origin story of Bruce Wayne and his tortured, emotionally isolated crime-fighting alter ego. Stately and just serious enough, “Batman Begins” was trumped by Nolan’s own 2008 sequel, “The Dark Knight,” which channeled a planet’s worth of post-9/11 panic and pitted Christian Bale’s masked vigilante against Heath Ledger’s unforgettable merry psycho.
