  1. NYC couple still wait to go home

Andy Jurinko is leading yet another tour of his rented loft at 125 Cedar Street, 300 feet from what used to be the World Trade Center. As he's done for nearly a year for journalists from around the world, the Phillipsburg native is demonstrating what happens, and doesn't happen, when 2 tons of debris are catapulted into an apartment by the collapse of more than 200 stories of skyscraper.

  3. Movie review: 'The Event'

    Tribune staff reporter
2 stars (out of 4) My Parker-Posey-love-o-meter was completely knocked out of whack upon learning that Posey - the indie world's Julia Roberts, with movies like "The House of Yes," "The Anniversary Party" and "Best in Show" under her thrift-store belt...

  5. Movie review: 'Blade: Trinity'

    Tribune staff reporter
2½ stars (out of 4) Sooner or later, all vampire stories come back to Dracula. "Blade: Trinity," the third fang-flashing installment in Wesley Snipes' vampire-killer franchise, is no exception. It seems that Dracula (Dominic Purcell) was napping in a...

  7. 'Blade II'

    Times Staff Writer
"Blade II" brings back Wesley Snipes in the title role as the Marvel Comics half-human, half-vampire who wears a long, flowing black coat and who has all the strengths of vampires but none of their weaknesses--save a craving for blood. However, Whistler...

  9. 'Blade: Trinity'

As its title indicates, "Blade: Trinity" brings back Wesley Snipes a third time as the black-leather-duster-clad, half-human/half-vampire dedicated to eradicating full-fledged bloodsuckers, which Blade regards as the scourge of the Earth — as if our planet has any shortage of scourges. As before, Blade is kept alive by Kris Kristofferson's Whistler, a scientist/father figure who staves off Blade's blood lust with regular doses of his special serum. The last time around Whistler had moved his lab to Prague, but now it's in an old warehouse in some large unnamed North American metropolis.

  11. Money Train

    TIMES FILM CRITIC
Wednesday November 22, 1995      "Money Train" is a by-the-numbers action-buddy picture, and few directors run through those numbers as smoothly as Joseph Ruben. With buddies du jour Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson as the leads, this turns out to be an...

    TIMES STAFF WRITER
Friday November 22, 1996      No movie could be more anti-Castro than Leon Ichaso's impassioned, operatic "Bitter Sugar," a harrowing depiction of the gradual disillusionment of a young idealistic Havana student (Rene Lavan) and his tempestuous romance...

  21. Waiting to Exhale

    TIMES FILM CRITIC
Friday December 22, 1995      Gorgeous stars, drop-dead clothes, glamorous settings: "Waiting to Exhale" has all the trappings of a lush, old-fashioned romantic melodrama, the kind of classic "women's picture" that used to appear periodically in the...
