1. 'One Last Thing ...'

Zap2It.com
Even though "One Last Thing ..." is about a teenager who's guaranteed to die of cancer at the end of the film, it's surprisingly not that grim or maudlin. Instead, Alex Steyermark's follow-up to "Prey for Rock & Roll" allows characters to be flawed and...

7. Movie review: Lymelife -- 4 out of 5 stars

A nearly perfect cast more than compensates for the over familiarity of elements of Lymelife, the umpteenth coming-of-age drama to roll out of Indiewood in recent years. Derick Martini's film has the gangly, awkward boy crushing on the cute girl next door, the two dysfunctional families they come from and assorted scenes with an over-compensating older brother, a bully and teens really stumbling into sex.

21. Review: 'Sex and the City'

IT'S IMPOSSIBLE to talk about the new “Sex and the City” movie without first mentioning "Sex and the City," the HBO series; or the rabid fan devotion it enjoyed; or the equally fervent antipathy (female and male) it inspired on socio-political grounds (sort of like the late-'90s equivalent of not letting your daughter play with Barbies); or the recently much-affirmed straight-male aversion to the series, predicated on cooties. In fact, the film arrives shrouded in such a fog of expectation, preconception, anticipation and (now with more post-Hillary bite!) gender bias that it's hard to see -- or write about -- the movie for the trees.
