  1. Gurode's insertion at left guard strengthens Ravens line

A reshuffled offensive line didn't seem to impede the Ravens in their explosive 37-7 victory over the St. Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome Sunday.

  7. Fitness Fridays: Cheaper than a massage

It's amazing how I forget so quickly how Pilates makes me feel. At one time I was a regular in a one-hour weekend class. The instructor was a bubbly, chatty woman who followed much the same routine every week and even used the same banter -- "That's cheater-lates" she would say as she demonstrated a move that her students would routinely fudge on. Or when doing the side series of exercises she would always say, "Remember, Jane Fonda? That's not it. Slower is more difficult."

Exercise is good for you. Period. There should be no argument. Tennis, though, also has its down sides. Essentially it works one side of the body more than the other (depending on which is your dominant hand) and is a relatively high-impact sport that'...

  11. With Proctor's injury, Miller likely to get start for Navy vs. Notre Dame

While Navy listed either Kriss Proctor or Trey Miller as the starting quarterback on its football depth chart going into Saturday's game at Notre Dame, the sling Proctor was wearing to support his left arm at practice Monday in Annapolis seemed to indicate where the decision was headed.

  15. During losing streak, Navy defense has taken a pass

Navy defensive coordinator Buddy Green doesn't want to hear about the injuries that have depleted his unit, from the line to the secondary. He doesn't want to talk about the fact that the Midshipmen will start two freshmen in the secondary and a junior lineman making his first college start Saturday here against Notre Dame.

  17. Navy has no answers for Notre Dame in a 56-14 rout by Irish

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — There was no talk about the end of Navy’s two-game winning streak over Notre Dame, or of the recent stretch of dominance by the Midshipmen that included three victories in four years over the Fighting Irish after decades of football famine.

  19. No safety net this season for Navy with Mitchell

The play — a 54-yard touchdown pass from Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees to wide receiver Michael Floyd — helped turn a one-touchdown deficit for Navy into a 56-14 loss. Floyd, a talented junior who many expect to be a high pick in the NFL draft, burned Parrish Gaines, a freshman cornerback making his first college start.

  23. Navy ends six-game losing streak with 42-14 romp over Troy

Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo tried to lighten the mood at practice last week, finishing one session with a 40-yard dash between pair of plebe defensive linemen who don't play and preaching to his Midshipmen that they needed to forget their six-game losing streak when they stepped onto the field Saturday to play Troy.
