    Anywhere from 2% to 4% of children suffer from Scoliosis. The condition usually develops during the adolescent growth spurt and causes a curve of the spine to one direction or the other. Symptoms are not usually easy to recognize and are often caught during school screenings. "You might notice one shoulder sticking up higher than the other. Or they might notice a waistline is&nbsp;asymmetric or if it's a more severe curve they might notice a child leaning to one side," says Dr. Douglas Armstrong Division Chief of&nbsp;Pediatric Orthopedics with Penn State Hershey Children&rsquo;s Hospital.
