BRAWLEY — The color of hope can be seen throughout Northend cities today, as the Brawley Relay for Life committee kicked off its annual Paint the Towns Purple event Saturday morning.
More than 30 volunteers participated in the event by placing several purple bows throughout Brawley, Westmorland and Calipatria, explained Ceci Gastelo, Brawley Relay for Life’s event chairwoman.
“This was our kick-off event before our annual relay, on April 27th and 28th,” Gastelo said.
The bows will not only help to create interest in the relay, but also bring awareness to the battle against all forms of cancer.
