Portland, ME -- A man is facing drunken driving charges for trying to drive an ice smoothing machine inside a Portland, Maine civic center.
Police responding to an alarm at the Cumberland County Civic Center found Adam Patterson riding an idling Zamboni.
The 22-year-old had crashed it into a wall near a storage area.
Authorities say he had also tried to operate two fork lifts.
The civic center is home to the Portland Pirates hockey team.
