LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- First Lady Michelle Obama will be in Los Angeles for a number of appearances on Monday.
Mrs. Obama is filming a special appearance on Nickelodeon's "iCarly" about the Joining Forces Initiative supporting military families.
She'll be in Beverly Hills Monday morning for a special panel discussion on the challenges faced by military families.
The panel is being hosted by all the entertainment industry guilds, and will be moderated by "Lost" co-creator and "Super 8" producer J.J. Abrams.
It will focus on how military families can be portrayed more accurately in movies and on TV.
Parts of Doheny Drive will be closed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
She will also deliver remarks at a Democratic National Committee luncheon in Pasadena.
Tickets for the luncheon sold for $1,000 per person. Supporters can get a photo and some face time with Mrs. Obama for $10,000.
The first lady will finish off her visit to the Southland with a fundraiser Monday night in Bel Air.
Mrs. Obama will head to Oakland and San Francisco on Tuesday, and then back to Washington D.C. on Wednesday.
