Denzel Washington won the Image Award for actor in a motion picture for "Flight," while Viola Davis earned the top actress award for "Won't Back Down." Samuel L. Jackson won supporting actor honors for "Django Unchained."
"Beasts of the Southern Wild" earned two awards: independent film and director for Benh Zeitlin.
On the television side, "Scandal" won for dramatic TV series and BET's "The Game" received the award for comedy series. LL Cool J was named best actor in a drama series for "NCIS: Los Angeles"." Don Cheadle won for actor in a comedy series for Showtime's "House of Lies," while Cassi Davis earned an Image Award in the actress category for TBS" "Tyler Perry's House of Payne."
Lifetime's "Steel Magnolias" was named best television movie, miniseries or dramatic special.
