HTC is expected to announce an Android phone called the M7 at the event. The rumored phone is said to have a 4.7-inch screen and a powerful 1.7GHz quad-core processor.

The Taiwanese company was originally expected to announce the device at the Mobile World Congress, which starts Feb. 25, but it looks like HTC has scheduled its own event ahead of the conference so that its news can stand out.
