Hours after releasing the veteran quarterback, the Titans signed former Buffalo Bills starter Ryan Fitzpatrick as backup to Jake Locker, who won Tennessee's starting job from Hasselbeck before the start of last season.
Hasselbeck, whose release from the Titans probably had a lot to do with his $5.5-million contract and $7.5-million salary-cap hit, landed on his feet as well, signing with the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday morning.
Fitzpatrick, who spent the last four seasons as the Bills' starting quarterback, was cut with five years remaining on his contract and at the start of free agency, a day before he was due to receive a $3-million bonus.
But now everyone involved seems to be all set for next season, right? Hasselbeck and Fitzpatrick have jobs, the Titans and Colts have veteran backups for their young quarterbacks ... are we forgetting someone?
Oh, right, the Bills. Well, a quick glance at their depth chart shows former Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings starter Tavaris Jackson listed at No. 1. Just a hunch, but they might not be done tinkering with their roster just yet.
