7. This Week's Pick: The 35th Norwalk Seaport Association Oyster Festival in Norwalk

What better song is there to slurp down oysters to than "Y.M.C.A."? Whether you can think of one or not, that is what you'll be hearing Saturday night when 2012 Norwalk Oyster Festival headliners the Village People take the stage. The fest will have its usual mix of food, music, rides, cooking competitions, arts and crafts and new for this year, a full-fledged lumberjack festival in which world champion lumberjacks will demonstrate their log rolling, axe-throwing, sawing and tree climbing skills. But the highlight is and always will be the humble oyster itself, perhaps with a squirt of lemon juice or a dab of horseradish to ease it down on its short journey to your stomach.
