Apple today announced that its next big product launch on Oct. 23 will be for the iPad Mini.
The computer giant sent out press invitations with the message: "We’ve got a little more to show you.” The press event will be held in San Jose, Calif.
Reports on many technology blogs and websites speculate the iPad Mini will be a smaller version of Apple's standard-setting 9.7-inch iPad. The screen on the iPad Mini tablet could be around 7 to 8 inches.
Some reports show the tablet could have the same Retina resolution display found on the new iPad, iPhone 4S, and iPhone 5. It might also include a couple of rear speakers, multiple storage versions, and 3G connectivity.
Apple's iPad Mini would be the latest smaller version tablet in that market and would compete with Google's Nexus 7 and Amazon's Kindle Fire HD. While Apple has not announced a price for the device, reports show it could run between $200 and $250.
