Kansas State is kicking off its Heisman Trophy campaign for quarterback Collin Klein.

Well, technically the school is calling it an MVP campaign, but let’s be honest here. The MVP award for college football is the Heisman Trophy so you can call it what you like, but it’s a Heisman campaign.

The school created a campaign that centers around the senior quarterback including a Twitter hashtag - #ckmvp – a web page that displays statistics from this season as well as comments from the media regarding Klein’s performance.

Some of the statistics include the fact that Klein has accounted for 66 percent of K-State’s offense since 2011. He is also responsible for 74 percent of the Wildcats’ offensive touchdowns since 2011 as well as having 34 rushing touchdowns since 2011, which is more than any other quarterback in the nation.

Klein has been in the Heisman Trophy talk for the past several weeks – he’s in our Heisman Watch – but with the strong performance that West Virginia’s Geno Smith has put up, it will be hard for Klein to catch up. Although, both teams play each other on Oct. 20 in Morgantown.
