Bible Baptist Church of Charlevoix's annual Thanksgiving and Veteran's Day dinner in honor of local veterans and their families will be served at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, in the church fellowship hall. A special ceremony and DVD presentation will follow in honor of local heroes. Door prizes will be given: dinners, fudge, sporting goods, books, hotel rooms and more. Alanson Church of the Nazarene annual deer hunters' dinner fundraiser for its food pantry is served 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the church. Cost is $12 per plate, with steak, potatoes/gravy, corn, dessert and drinks. The cost includes a chance to win a Savage "Axis" 30-06 bolt action rifle with 3-9x mm variable scope. The drawing will be between 6:30-7 p.m. Need not be present to win.
