  3. John R. Trexel, 80, of Jackson Township

    John R. Trexel, 80, of Jackson Township, joined his wife Sally in heaven, Dec. 26, 2011. Born June 30, 1931, in Jennerstown, daughter of the late Robert and Annie (Hemminger) Trexel. Preceded in death by his wife, Sally; brother, Howard Trexel; and sister, Emily Kalaha. Survived by daughters: Pamela (David) Mott; and Debra Trexel. Also survived by granddaughter, Rebecca Peduzzi; and sisters: Dorothy Stern; Lois Riley; and Carol (Bob) Wright. Member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mundys Corner. Retired from Gulf Oil Corp. and later worked for BP Oil Company. John will always be remembered cutting his grass and blowing snow on his John Deere tractor. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and  6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo and from 10:30 until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Rev. Ronald Reed, officiating. Interment at Stahl Mennonite Cemetery, Conemaugh Township, Somerset County. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3328 William Penn Avenue, Johnstown, PA 15909.
