George Roy Williams, 63, of Belle Fourche died Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

He was born May 7, 1949 in Watertown, South Dakota to Roy W. and Joyce (Smith) Williams. George graduated from Watertown High School in 1967. Following he completed two years of higher education.

George married Sandra Kuipers on June 10, 1978 in Platte, South Dakota. To this union two children, Jacob and Sarah were born. They lived in Riverton, WY for 5 years and moved to Newcastle, WY where they resided for 2 years. In 1986 they moved to Belle Fourche where George worked for the South Dakota Department of Transportation.

He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and served on the Vestry. He was also a member of the church mens group.

George was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid reader and loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed his companionship with his cats and dogs.

Grateful to have shared his life are his wife, Sandy Williams of Belle Fourche; children, Jacob Williams of Belle Fourche and Sarah Williams of Sturgis; brothers, Arlind (Patty) Williams of Watertown, Harry Williams of Kentucky and Ernie Williams of Rapid City and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Joyce Williams.

A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 20th at St. James Episcopal Church in Belle Fourche with the Reverend Evelyn Weaver and Deacon Mike Weaver officiating.

A memorial has been established.
