American racecar driver David Blaney was born on Oct. 24, 1962, in Harford Township, Ohio. In 1983, he won the All-Star Sprint Circuit Rookie-of-the-Year award. He raced in the United States Automobile Club Silver Crown Series and won the national championship in 1984. In 1985, he won his first World of Outlaws race at Tri-City Speedway, and won the championship in 1995. In the 1997 season, he won three races, including the premiere event in sprint car racing, the Knoxville Nationals. He began his Busch series career in 1998. He won his first Busch series victory at Lowes Motor Speedway in 2006. In the summer of 2010, he returned to sprint car racing.
