1. Danks gets it right

Cubs manager Dale Sveum helped out the White Sox, and John Danks did the rest on Saturday night.
Cubs manager Dale Sveum helped out the White Sox, and John Danks did the rest on Saturday night. The White Sox’s left-handed starter has had more trouble with left-handed hitters than righties this season. His confidence in throwing his changeup to...

3. Everything's Jake with the Sox

During spring training, Jake Peavy said he wouldn’t try to become a pitcher who relies on guile after surgery robbed him of the power he used to have. Peavy lied, and good for him. He has become as smart as he is good. When he lost the plate in the fourth inning, Peavy managed a bases-loaded situation instead of trying to overpower it.

7. Readers Q&A: Paul Sullivan's Cubs mailbag

Now that the Cubs have been mathematically eliminated from 2012 and 2013 postseason contention, how bare do you see Theo Epstein stripping the Cubs? Is he going to trade everything of value (Matt Garza, Geovany Soto), pay large chunks of salary (Alfonso Soriano, Carlos Marmol) and ask guys to waive no-trade clauses (Ryan Dempster) in the name of restocking the system and starting over? I could understand going that route, but it sure could lead to a (more) embarrassing couple of years. -- Tom D., Oregon, Wis.
