    WGN Cubs voices Pat Hughes, Ron Santo are Lou Boudreau are among 41 broadcasters who have made it through to the second round of voting for the the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum's 2013 Ford C. Frick Award for excellence in baseball broadcasting. The selection process began with fan voting among broadcasters with ten or more years of consecutive service. The top 40 finishers (plus ties) moved on for a second round of voting by the fans. Along with Pat, Ron and Lou, you'll notice some other familiar names among the 41. This round of voting continues through 4 p.m. CT on October 5.&nbsp; The top three vote-getters, along with seven other finalists determined by a Hall of Fame committee, will then be placed on the final ballot, to be announced on October 9. The winner, to be determined by a 21-member electorate made up of previous Frick Award winners along with baseball historians and media veterans, will be announced at baseball's Winter Meetings in early December.

    Today marks the one-year anniversary of the death of Mike Flanagan at his home in Monkton. He would be 60 years old. My thoughts are with his family and friends. Suicide is an exceptionally difficult issue for survivors to deal with. From my personal experience, that first-year anniversary is a real difficult day. I wouldn&rsquo;t be surprised if the Orioles have a moment of silence in honor of Flanny&rsquo;s memory tonight.
