3. Lakers' gig propels former Magic assistant Steve Clifford

Funny how things work.
Funny how things work. Winding up in Los Angeles didn't enhance Dwight Howard's Q rating, but Steve Clifford's move to the Lakers did wonders for the longtime assistant coach. Clifford not only found work in L.A. after losing his job when Stan Van...

5. NBA Finals: Who has the edge?

LeBron James is right when he says he's way better than the player who couldn't carry the Cavaliers past the Spurs in the 2007 NBA Finals.
LeBron James is right when he says he's way better than the player who couldn't carry the Cavaliers past the Spurs in the 2007 NBA Finals. It's also true James' Heat has a much better supporting cast than those Cavaliers did. The problem for the...

7. Michael Jordan, baseball, Harry Caray and the Crosstown Classic

While scanning YouTube for Crosstown Classic clips, I came upon this gem from 1994, back when the game was a yearly charity event before the days of interleague play. The ’94 game at Wrigley Field is the only one for which I recall any specific detail, and it’s not exactly because the Sox’s starting right-fielder was a 31-year-old rookie, but more specifically because the right-fielder was Michael Jordan.

9. Five reasons the Spurs will beat the Heat to win a fifth NBA title

1. The Spurs are a more complete, cohesive and consistent team. They don’t sell as many jerseys or generate as many Twitter followers (in social media holdout Tim Duncan’s case, zero). The Spurs just win while sending opponents to the loony bin with their methodical play-making. By comparison, Miami is as all over the place as a graffiti artist; the Heat is seemingly unbeatable one game and then riddled with issues (Is Dwyane Wade done? Can Chris Bosh out-rebound a point guard?) the next. The steadier team wins this race.
